Remember, Mr. Ross Gallo liked land and had all those Italian and other European friends and acquaintances from Toronto interested in buying land. Well, they kept coming and then their children came, and many others invested in land as far north as beyond Sunderland in North Uxbridge. Ten acres within Whitchurch-Stouffville was a popular property size, as well as 25 to 50 acre parcels. And, as long as he and other Gallo salespeople were selling land, why not sell farms, estates and bigger parcels that could be sub-divided into lots in subdivisions? Ross was instrumental in selling subdivisions for builders in Leaksdale, Thornbay, Coppins Corners, and Maple Park, and more recently in Ballantrae.
Gradually, Gallo Real Estate Ltd. grew from two salespeople (Ross and Maria) to today’s number in the high twenties. Even Ross and Maria’s children, Joseph and Adele, caught their parents’ real estate fervor and Adele obtained her associate broker’s license in 1985. Joseph left a draftsman’s job to enter the world of real estate sales in 1986.
Not only were people buying vacant land, but also commercial sites, buildings, small and large estate residences. And they were buying and selling their in-town residences through Gallo Real Estate Ltd. Some salespeople would prefer to work in outlying areas in York and Durham Regions, some sold mostly within town, growing the Gallo market share there, and others sold from Toronto to cottage country, so the Gallo name got recognized over a wide area!
During the 1980s and 90s the sales force kept growing. Many salespeople came to Gallo knowing they would experience not only a high level of broker support with Maria at the helm of the brokerage, but that they would be accepted as part of the “family.”
What is quite interesting is that some clients of Gallo were so impressed with the service they received; they decided to become real estate salespeople as well, and have worked many years for Maria.
If you’re a salesperson that has experienced the kindness, the broker support, and just the overall friendliness of the Gallo family, it seems to “rub off” and your own clientele reaps the benefits of you having an enjoyable work environment. People seem to know when there is that unspoken caring about their welfare, as well as their business and investments.
Gallo brokers and salespeople look forward to many more profitable years serving their community and those that they will be able to introduce to their next homes. We believe your home is your castle, and we are serving “royalty.” Looking forward to you calling or stopping by for a chat!
